The big attractions at West Side Hallo Fest

What the magical setting at West Side Hallo Fest will look like: the haunted bus, the giant pumpkin, the three-meter-tall witch are just some of the attractions
For three days, from October 25-27, the Lacul Morii Island in Sector 6 will be transformed into a magical land. Spectacular decorations, two stages, rock concerts, artists on stilts, competitions, a costume parade, unique workshops, as well as culinary delights and decorations to take home, all of this makes West Side Hallo Fest an event not to be missed. Here are the main attractions and the full program!
From the moment they enter the island, visitors will be able to admire the arcades decorated with black and white canvases, with ghosts, crows, old crates of pumpkins and corn, as well as several windows "blocked" with nailed-in boards. All to give the feeling of entering an abandoned, haunted city.
Further on, they will come across a giant pumpkin, 2.5 meters in diameter, illuminated from the inside and built from natural materials, on an iron structure. It can be considered the symbol of the festival, as the entire island will be filled with 45 tons of pumpkins. 10,000 pieces are used in the workshops, and another 5,000 for decoration.
The flower-filled "butterfly" from the West Side Flower Fest is also coming to Hallo Fest, this time with wings loaded with zucchini.
Those who want thrills can board the Ghost Ride bus, a horror bus, or the "ghost house". For 7-10 minutes, the duration of the "house" tour, guests will be treated to a terrifying welcome: projections of ghosts and skeletons sitting at tables, talking paintings, lamps and candles that light up by themselves, out of the blue, and many other surprises that will make their hearts race. It will be a multimedia journey full of mystery and adrenaline, with special effects and holograms, through which visitors will be transported to a world of ghosts, shadows and sinister surprises.
Outside again, an oversized witch, almost three meters tall, "watches over" the island, whose best friend is a spider as huge as her. The Halloween decor is completed by trees with crows, ghosts everywhere, skeletons, masks, a 100-year-old wagon filled with straw bales and pumpkins, and lots of autumn flowers.
Visitors, adults and children, are encouraged to get involved, complete this magical picture and come in costume. Not only that, but they will be able to participate in a costume parade, and at the end they will win prizes from sponsors.
Besides the scenery, the concerts and activities on the island are the second big attraction of the festival. The 32,000 sq m space will be divided by interest categories, as follows: there will be an area with workshops for children, a stage for children, a large stage for shows and concerts, an area for activations (workshops) of sponsors and partners, a merchant area and a food area.

Free games and workshops for children
Throughout the three days, children can participate in free workshops, organized by DGASPC Sector 6, sponsors and partners of the event. Thus, there will be workshops on pumpkin carving, painting tangerines/oranges, recycling, making masks, etc. With the help of simulators, the little ones can walk through houses of horror, take pictures in Halloween-specific decorations, participate in educational and sustainability games (e.g. about battery recycling, monopoly game, games with witch hats) or take pictures with their favorite mascots. On the children's stage, musical moments, plays, magic shows and a costume parade are scheduled.
Merchants also prepared culinary delights and decorations that were equally "scary" or in tune with autumn: Vlad the Impaler pizza, baked pumpkin pies and ice cream, lollipops decorated with bats and witch hats, burgers "dressed" as frogs, beaded earrings in the shape of ghosts, magnets with spell books, crystal globes, T-shirts painted with Halloween characters and many, many other wonders.
